Fevronia

Fevronia is the artistic name of Ronia Topalidou, a Greek singer and soloist associated with Düsseldorf, Germany. Her musical repertoire spans classical singing, Greek traditional music, rebetiko and international genres, reflecting a background in formal vocal training and a continuing interest in different musical traditions.

Born in Thessaloniki in 1989 and raised in Katerini, Fevronia began studying classical guitar at the age of eleven and classical singing at twelve. Her education includes studies in History and Archaeology at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, classical singing at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna under Gabriele Lechner, and Management and Business Administration in Cologne. She also holds a diploma in advanced music theory, harmony and counterpoint.

Her classical performance experience includes the role of Filia in Carissimi's oratorio Historia di Jephte, under the direction of Efthymios Mavridis. She has also appeared as a soloist at the Olympus Festival, performing compositions by Greek composers such as Mikis Theodorakis, Manos Hadjidakis, Stavros Xarchakos and others.

Her experience of living in Germany contributed to a growing interest in rebetiko and the Greek musical tradition, leading to her participation as a principal singer with the ensemble Rebetikon. Alongside her Greek repertoire, Fevronia explores jazz, Roma music, Latin music, fado, French chansons, Italian canzonettas and tango. Her performances bring together classical vocal foundations, traditional Greek expression and influences from a wide range of international musical styles.
