LUSTRE – Gosford

LUSTRE brings together twelve contemporary artists responding to the landscapes, battle sites and historical memory of the 1941 campaigns in Greece and Crete. The exhibition grew from a 2025 journey in which the artists travelled through Greece and Crete, engaging directly with places connected to the Allied withdrawal and Operation Lustre. Their resulting works examine landscape, conflict, remembrance and the long historical links between Australia, New Zealand and Greece through painting, photography, film and mixed media. Participating artists include Riste Andrievski, Angeliki Androutsopoulos, Michael Bradfield, Deirdre Bean, Michelle Hiscock, Alan Daniel Jones, Joanna Logue, Steve Lopes, Euan Macleod, Natalie Leontaris O’Connor, Amanda Penrose Hart and Rodney Pople.
