Praxis

Praxis is a contemporary Greek theatre group based in Oxford, United Kingdom, established in September 2013 by the Oxford University Greek Society. Its mission is to introduce modern Greek plays performed in their original language to English-speaking audiences, bringing contemporary Greek dramatic writing into Oxford's international cultural scene. The group complements the city's longstanding tradition of Classical Greek theatre by presenting works that reflect modern Greek theatrical expression.

Praxis made its theatrical debut in 2014 under the direction of Manos Tsotras, initially operating as the theatre group of the Oxford University Greek Society. Since 2015, Anastasia Revi has provided artistic direction. Collaboration with professional directors has been an important part of the group's approach, supporting the development and staging of its productions.

The group brings together people from different backgrounds who share an interest in theatre and Greek culture. Through its productions and collaborative artistic work, Praxis creates opportunities for contemporary Greek storytelling to reach audiences beyond Greece, contributing to cultural exchange and the presence of Greek-language performing arts in Oxford.
