2026 World Rowing Championships

The senior World Rowing Championships are held every year at the end of the international rowing season and World Champions are crowned in 12 Olympic boat classes – six for men and six for women, as well as four International boat classes for lightweight rowers and two mixed boat classes.  

Para-rowers compete in five Paralympic boat classes.

The 2026 event programmes will be published in January 2026. Please see below the key event dates and times: 

• • Official opening of the venue: Thursday, 20 August 

• • Team Manager Meeting & Draw: Sunday, 23 August, 15:00 hrs 

• • First race: Monday, 24 August, morning 

• • Start of the last race: Sunday, 30 August, no later than 15:00 hrs

The following Olympic, Paralympic and International Events are offered at the World Rowing Championships:  

Men (M): 1x, 2x, 2-, 4x, 4-, 8+  

Women (W): 1x, 2x, 2-, 4x, 4-, 8+  

Lightweight Men (LM): 1x, 2x  

Lightweight Women (LM): 1x, 2x   

Mix: Mix2x, Mix8+ 

Para-rowing (PR): PR1 W1x, PR1 M1x, PR2 Mix2x, PR3 Mix2x, PR3 Mix4+
