The inaugural Greek Australian Writers’ Festival takes place at Olympic Hall in Adelaide on Saturday, October 17, 2026. Hosted by Helen Vatsikopoulos, Kay Pavlou and Sophie Diamandi, the festival brings together Greek Australian authors, artists, academics and cultural voices for a full day devoted to contemporary writing, storytelling and identity.
Across six sessions, participants will discuss their latest works, creative practice and the experiences that shape their writing. A special keynote session focuses on The Odyssey and explores the enduring influence of Greek history, mythology, landscape and identity. Featured participants include Nick Seindanis, Elena Carapetis, Andrew Pippos, Luka Lesson, Dr Emlyn Dodd, Petra Kalive, Effy Alexakis, Dr Anastasia Hronis, Maria Andreas, Andrea Johns and Constantinos Emmanuelle. Light refreshments are provided and bookings are essential for catering purposes.
