Meet the Greek

Meat the Greek is a modern Greek restaurant in Gothenburg, Sweden, specialising in gyros, souvlaki and authentic Greek flavours served with a fast and contemporary approach. Located at Skanstorget, the restaurant combines the convenience of casual dining with a strong focus on ingredient quality and traditional Greek recipes.

The concept took a new direction at the end of 2015, when the team travelled extensively to meet suppliers and select products that would form the foundation of the restaurant's future. Today, almost all of its ingredients are imported directly from Greece, reflecting its commitment to authenticity and carefully sourced products.

The philosophy is straightforward: Greek food and fast service without taking shortcuts. Meat is seasoned according to classic Greek recipes and carefully grilled, with gyros and souvlaki among the restaurant's central specialties. The goal is to reproduce the familiar flavours and character of Greek street food while maintaining consistent quality.

Alongside gyros and souvlaki, guests can discover other Greek dishes such as soutzoukaki. Guest feedback highlights generous portions and flavourful food, with diners particularly praising the soutzoukaki plate and the overall quality of their meals.
