Maria, the creator of the Greek restaurant chain Meraki in Oslo, moved to Norway in 2010, drawn by strong friendships that made her love the country.
Upon arriving, she began working in the food industry, quickly captivating people with her authentic cooking. In 2016, she made her first step into the business world with a food truck serving crepes. By 2019, she launched ‘Meraki,’ a street food store, named after the Greek word for doing something with soul, creativity, and love — values reflected in every dish. Since then, she has expanded to four stores, with a fifth on the way, and plans for continued growth.
At Meraki, our success stems from Maria’s deep connection to Norway and the local community’s love for authentic Greek flavors.
