The Greek Centre

The Greek Centre is the cultural and educational hub of the Greek Community of Melbourne, located in the heart of Melbourne's CBD. Officially completed in 2014, the 15-storey landmark was created to celebrate, preserve, and promote Greek culture while providing a modern home for education, community engagement, business, and the arts.

The building serves as the headquarters of the Greek Community of Melbourne and includes dedicated event, conference, and education spaces, a community library and lounge, as well as commercial offices occupied by leading organisations. Its distinctive architectural design features the hidden image of the ancient Greek Discobolus on the Lonsdale Street façade, making it one of Melbourne's most recognisable cultural landmarks.

The Greek Centre hosts an extensive calendar of activities throughout the year, including Greek language courses, Ancient Greek studies, beginner language programs, cultural seminars, live music performances, exhibitions, conferences, and community events. It is also a regular venue for the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and numerous corporate and community gatherings.

Crowning the building is the rooftop restaurant and bar, offering spectacular views across Melbourne's skyline. As a centre for education, culture, and community life, The Greek Centre continues to strengthen the connection between Greek heritage and contemporary Australian society while welcoming visitors from all backgrounds.
