Federation of Pontian Associations of Australia

The Federation of Pontian Associations of Australia is the national representative body for Pontian Greek organisations across Australia. Established in 1989 by six leading Pontian associations from three Australian states, the Federation was created to unite the Pontian community under one voice while representing its interests at a national level.

Today, the Federation brings together member associations from every Australian state and territory, strengthening cooperation between local clubs and supporting the preservation of Pontian history, culture, and traditions. It serves as a central organisation dedicated to promoting the heritage of the Greeks of Pontos, whose ancestral homeland lies along the southern coast of the Black Sea in Asia Minor.

The Federation actively works to preserve Pontian customs, music, dance, language, and historical awareness for future generations. It also supports Pontian Greeks throughout Australia by connecting individuals and families with local member associations, encouraging community participation, and promoting cultural education within the wider Australian community.

Through national collaboration, commemorative events, cultural initiatives, and community advocacy, the Federation of Pontian Associations of Australia continues to play a vital role in preserving Pontian identity while fostering unity among Pontian Greeks across Australia.
